Herbal porridges pack a massive nutritious punch and one might even be tempted to crown it the King of porridges. It’s a common meal with most Sri Lankans and is created using various native greens such as Gotukola, Hathawariya, Mukunuwenna, and many more. Some consider this as a complete breakfast meal and rightfully so, some consume it for its medicinal purposes.

Centella asiatica or more commonly known as Gotukola is considered as a “herb of longevity” which is very commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine. Since this is considered a very medicinal plant and is popular all over the world these are available in many different forms such as Gotukola powder, capsules, and juice.

I’ve recently got my hands on a Gotukola powder, another great product introduced by @finch.foods . Making Gotukola porridge just became that much easier to make and ensures you have no excuse to miss out on such a healthy meal.

Method

• Add cooked rice, coconut milk, @finch.foods Gotukola powder, salt, garlic, and ginger into a blender and blend until smooth.
• Add the mixture into a cooking pot and bring it to boil (cook for 05-07 minutes) while stirring
• Serve warm with a piece of jaggery or dates
